More than 30,000 customers in the CR use broadband ADSL connections Print E-mail

07 July, 2004: The number of active broadband ADSL Internet connections in the Czech Republic exceeded 30,000 last week. Cesky Telecom’s ‘Internet Express’ service, which was introduced to the market in May, comprises an outstanding share of these connections.

“Internet Express constitutes 85% of all orders for broadband Internet from CESKY TELECOM’s portfolio and 68% of all orders on the Czech market,” stated David Duron, chief marketing officer. “In order to meet customer demand, we have decided to extend the advantageous offer of Internet Express for 999 Korunas until the end of this month”, added Mr. Duron.

Since 12 May, 8,700 customers have ordered Internet Express. Of these subscribers, roughly 90% were new broadband Internet users.

For 999 Korunas, Internet Express combines a high-speed Internet connection with very attractive calling rates. The connection through this service is available for a monthly fee and has no time or data limits. Cesky Telecom is now offering broadband Internet in most regions of the Czech Republic and has a potential coverage of almost 64% of all telephone lines. By the end of this year, Internet Express availability will expand further to approximately 180 new localities.

Internet Express offers broadband Internet access at a favourable price that includes the monthly fee for one of two very attractive pricing programs. The first program is Telefon Universal, which features the most favourable minutely rate for calling anywhere (from CZK0,59 without VAT). Depending on the type of call, savings can be as much as 64 percent in comparison with the ordinary Telefon 70 or Home Standard programs. The second option is the Telefon Universal Dialog program, with the newest method of billing for calls to all fixed lines in the Czech Republic: it does not matter how long a customer calls for, nor does it matter whether they are calling local or long-distance, or during peak or off-peak hours. For every call made anywhere and at any time, the subscriber pays only CZK 9,90 without VAT (for the first hour of the call).
