VoIP technology innovator Quintum Technologies has announced an alliance with Unified Communications to support Signaling System 7 (SS7) on Quintum’s Tenor Carrier MultiPath Switch (CMS) and DX product lines. Unified's SS7 Signaling Gateway, coupled with Quintum's VoIP solutions is designed to be an easy and cost-effective way to deliver high-quality voice services over IP networks. Unified Communications' SS7 Signaling Gateway is a product that provides seamless integration of communications equipment into an existing SS7 telecommunications network. Providing the functionality required to support applications such as Wholesale VoIP Termination, Tandem Switching, IP Local Access Services and Calling Card Services, Quintum's Tenor DX and CMS products support H.323, SIP, intelligent call routing, TDM switching and QoS all-in-one solution. The Tenor DX supports up to 4 T1/E1/PRI trunks, whilst the Tenor CMS supports up to 32 T1/E1/PRI trunks. The SS7 Signaling Gateway supports multiple Quintum Tenor VoIP switches over the IP network, thus creating an efficient method for service providers to support SS7 in their VoIP networks.
