conVISUAL, with its local partner IAM Mobile, have launched the Mobile Interactive TV Platform in Australia. The platform includes applications enabling the utilisation of mobile interactive TV services. The first service was launched with broadcaster Fox8 providing SMS2TV services during the Australian television broadcast of the Live8 concert.  This service allowed viewers to show their solidarity with the theme of making poverty history by sending their names via SMS for inclusion in the Live8 petition as well as having their names appear on the screen during the live TV coverage. Using conVISUAL's Mobile Interactive TV Platform, incoming SMS and MMS messages are processed automatically and prepared, as a video signal to be sent out, for integration into live TV broadcasts.
