Belgacom, the incumbent fixed-line operator in Belgium, has gone live with Incatel's IP Address Management (IPAM) module. IPAM is now fully integrated with Belgacom's order management system for corporate IP services, to automate the allocation of IP addresses as part of the provisioning process. This milestone is the first stage of deployment of Incatel's convergent network inventory solution, NIMS, for Belgacom's data and broadband services. Belgacom has identified that, with the rapid growth of business services like IP-VPNs, automating provisioning is essential to be able to provide services faster and more cost effectively. One key aspect of the provisioning process is the assignment according to strict criteria of IP addresses from organised pools of addresses. Incatel's IPAM module provides a means to administrate efficiently the IP-address-space allocated by an Internet Registry, such as RIPE (Réseaux IP Européens).
