TUI Suisse, the third largest tour operator in Switzerland, is outsourcing  the operation of its information technology to Siemens Business Services via its IT subsidiary TUI InfoTec. The order covers desktop management at company headquarters in Zurich and in more than 60 travel agencies, as well as operation of the back-office applications and the company-specific software. TUI Suisse's ten IT employees will retain their jobs with Siemens Business Services. No details were released concerning the value of the outsourcing contract, which is set to run for a period of six years. Siemens Business Services has already begun with the migration of the  sector-specific software. IT support for the more than 500 PC workplaces in Zurich and the more than 60 travel agencies throughout Switzerland will be implemented a step at a time, with completion scheduled for the end of 2005.
