Saturday, 23 July 2005

Red Bend Software, a provider of firmware over-the-air (FOTA) update solutions for mobile devices, has joined IBM's PartnerWorld Industry Networks.  Red Bend will leverage IBM's sales, marketing and technical expertise to develop and deliver comprehensive FOTA solutions that meet the device management requirements of mobile network operators and handset manufacturers. Red Bend's vCurrent Mobile Firmware Management System (FMS) will be delivered with IBM's WebSphere Everywhere Device Management (WEDM) to provide a comprehensive FOTA solution.  Red Bend's FMS enables mobile network operators and mobile handset manufacturers to effectively manage firmware updates.  It provides a secure, quarantined environment for selecting, testing, and controlling firmware updates through the entire process from the delivery of updates from the device manufacturers through to the operators' installing the updates on users' mobile handsets.
