iPass has announced a partnership with Luftfartsverket (LFV), the Swedish Civil Aviation Administration, to bring all of its airports into the iPass Global Broadband Roaming network. As the first roaming agreement to be signed by LFV, it represents a significant commitment to providing high quality, secure Internet access for travellers throughout
Sweden. Under the agreement, wired and wireless broadband Internet access points in all public areas of LFV's 16 sites, including check-in areas, restaurants, shops, transit areas and the VIP lounge at
Stockholm-Arlanda,
Sweden's main airport, will be certified Enterprise Ready by iPass. More than 30 million passengers travel through LFV's airports every year, with this figure currently increasing by around 5% annually. The authority considers itself to be amongst the most technologically advanced in
Europe and aims to provide passengers with every amenity that they need to ensure a pleasant visit. The agreement covers 16 major Swedish airports including Stockholm-Arlanda, Gothenburg-Landvetter, Stockholm-Bromma and Malmö-Sturup.
