Citrus Telecom will deploy Digitalk's Multiservice Platform to offer VoIP services to both business and residential customers, while supporting existing services and SS7 interconnects using the same hardware platform. By deploying the Digitalk solution, Citrus Telecom will be able to realise network operational savings by removing the need for third party media gateways and unnecessary TDM trunking. Citrus Telecom is also using Digitalk's SIP and H.323 trunking for its interconnection arrangements for both termination and origination of VoIP, and is using SIP for its business and residential offerings of Broadband Telephony. Now operating under a unified Digitalk Network and Service Management platform, Citrus' requirements for centralised Least Cost Routing tables and a single management system for both VoIP and TDM services can be quickly realised, offering significant operational savings. The centrally managed system also enables the effective management of network utilisation, ensuring the preferential use of capacity on the most cost effective telephony routes and that service costs are reduced. This allows Citrus to pass savings onto customers thus ensuring they provide the best value possible to subscribers of their VoIP and broadband services.
