10 August, 2004: A mobile music service using Ericsson's M-USE solution has been introduced by TeliaSonera Sweden, enabling the operator to offer its customers a unique mobile music service filled with international and local mobile music content. The M-USE service, developed by Ericsson in cooperation with Sony Music, is available via TeliaSonera's Swedish mobile service Telia Go. Ericsson takes the overall responsibility for the music service, including content aggregation, Digital Rights Management (DRM) and platform development. The service is integrated, hosted and managed by Ericsson.

TeliaSonera's M-USE service features music content from both Sony Music and Warner Music International. All music content found in M-USE is original music recordings. The service delivers a variety of realtones (ring tones playing the original music), polyphonic ring tones, StarMMS (artist pictures and music clips), as well as artist greetings and artist news. M-USE has unique personalisation features and search functions, allowing consumers to easily find the music that is right for them.

This arrangement enables TeliaSonera to offer its customers a large selection of mobile music content from many of the world's most popular artists. Telia Go users can get music content from international stars such as Anastacia, George Michael, Alanis Morissette, and REM, as well as from local artists such as Gunther & The Sunshine Girls, Agneta Fältskog, Lena Philipsson, and Patrik Isaksson directly into their mobile phones.

The hosted M-USE mobile music service is a part of Ericsson's managed services offering. TeliaSonera is the first Scandinavian operator to launch the M-USE service to its customers.
