Indian interoperability test centre opened Print E-mail
Monday, 21 November 2005

mFormation Technologies has opened a new mobile device management Interoperability (IOP) Test Center at its Bangalore, India office. This global test center is being used by industry-leading mobile device manufacturers to perform early-stage testing of their OMA standards-based client software, core code and prototype hardware against mFormation’s comprehensive DM server platform, ensuring external  validation of new standards-based software and hardware before it is delivered to mobile operators. mFormation provides an Interoperability Test Tool for vendors using the test center, accessible through a secure Web-based interface. With this tool, manufacturers can remotely conduct testing on new devices and device software. The tool provides both conformance and interoperability test cases, enabling device manufacturers to test both adherence to the requirements of specific standards as well as verifying that specific hardware and software implementations work properly. The robust, vendor-independent, standards-based DM server platform against which these  tests are run is a core component of the mFormation Service Manager Suite. Several handset and OS vendors are using the new IOP Test Center and Test Tool to check the interoperability of device software and core code at a very early stage, enabling them to verify their device clients against an industry-leading DM platform well before they deliver new devices to their mobile operator customers, and ensuring compliance with OMA standards when new devices are delivered to the market.
