2005 is set to be another record year for text messaging growth in the UK and last month was no exception. November's figure of 2.8bn text messages takes the annual total to a staggering 29bn, according to figures released by the Mobile Data Association (MDA). Person-to-person texts sent across the UK GSM network operators last month show an increase of over 23% on the total sent during the same period in 2004. November's total presents an average of 93mn text messages being sent per day in the UK.
