Sonus Networks has teamed with NETGEAR to streamline the adoption and usage of leading consumer VoIP solutions. The two companies have conducted interoperability testing between Sonus’ Voice over Broadband (VoBB) platform and NETGEAR’s line of broadband phone adapters, which will enable customers to access next generation consumer lifestyle services. Sonus’ IMS-ready architecture supports the industry’s most extensive portfolio of next generation applications, and offers an open, flexible framework for the rapid deployment of future applications, including high margin services such as presence-driven applications, fixed-to-mobile services, and other solutions that leverage the power of IP-based architectures. The NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter with Router streamlines access to these services. Customers simply plug an ordinary telephone and their cable or digital subscriber line (DSL) modem into the NETGEAR Broadband Voice Adapter; installation and set-up is through NETGEAR’s intuitive user interface, Smart Wizard.
