VoiceFlex launches SIP trunking Print E-mail
Wednesday, 12 April 2006

VoiceFlex, a provider of advanced IP telephony services for UK businesses, has launched VoiceFlex SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) Trunks as a competitive alternative to existing analogue and ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network) lines, providing businesses with a more cost effective and feature rich option for VoIP connectivity. Connecting to an existing telephone system, VoiceFlex's SIP-based IP trunking uses voice over broadband to provide significantly lower line rental than traditional ISDN networks, as well as free calls to other SIP trunk users. Using SIP trunking over compatible IP PBX systems, UK BT numbers can be delivered to any IP address, regardless of the users geographical location. This makes portability of numbers extremely straightforward, meaning that they can be retained when a company moves location or merges offices for example. With the VoiceFlex service, users no longer need one phone line per number as with ISDN. With SIP trunking, multiple numbers can be provided over one line or vice versa, providing large cost savings and improved flexibility. SIP connectivity is 60% cheaper than ISDN lines and calls cost only 35% of regular phone calls, when compared with BT standard rate.

VoiceFlex SIP Trunks are currently available for use on SwyxWare, a software based IP telephony solution from Swyx Solutions, and are also in tests with other PBX systems and most of the analogue to SIP converters.
