Ubiquity Software has been selected as a supplier of SIP platforms for BT’s 21st Century Network (21CN) programme following successful completion of a rigorous selection process. Ubiquity’s SIP Application Server (SIP A/S) and Service Creation Environment will enable a range of next generation of converged voice and multimedia services for consumers and business users to be developed and deployed quickly. According to BT, 21CN, the world’s most radical next generation network transformation programme, will put BT at the cutting edge of innovation, providing UK industry with a real competitive advantage, and consumers with a world-class communication service for the 21st Century. BT recently unveiled a vision of the 21CN where customers will have greater control over the services they receive by being able to customise, personalise and change services in real time.

BT’s customers will also enjoy access to a wealth of multimedia information and entertainment services, delivered to a device of their choice, whether at home, in the office or on the move. In the converged world of 21CN, BT customers benefit from greater flexibility and cost-efficiency and additionally, 21CN will enable BT to introduce new services at a speed that was previously not possible. The selection of Ubiquity’s SIP Application Server (SIP A/S) and Service Creation Environment will help BT to deliver on this vision by enabling BT to rapidly develop and deploy a range of next generation voice and multimedia services using standards such as SIP Servlets and Parlay-X on a single common capability platform.
