Monday, 15 May 2006

Interoute, owner of Europe’s most advanced next-generation voice and data network, has extended its capabilities to Dubai, the first location to offer such advanced services in the Middle East. The next-generation Internet Protocol (IP) Point of Presence (PoP) provides hundreds of multi-national companies located within Dubai’s Free Zones the opportunity to securely connect their Dubai offices to the rest of their corporate network in Europe and the US. The PoP allows Du, the UAE’s new telecom’s provider, to offer an array of network services to enterprises with a Dubai presence, including:

*        Bandwidth – enterprises can use Ethernet or Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) to connect their Dubai offices with the rest of their global network;
*        Virtual Private Network (VPN) – an enterprise’s VPN can now be extended to Dubai via Interoute’s Multi-protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network or IP Security;
*        Managed Hosting and Co-location – both services are now available to Dubai enterprises and can be integrated with a company’s connectivity needs as required;
*        Security – protection of an enterprise’s Dubai network is now available, with Interoute offering services from complex disaster recovery solutions to simple managed firewalls.

Interoute’s development of the PoP comes as a result of its partnership with Tecom, a United Arab Emirates telecoms operator and member of Dubai Holding.
