28 November, 2004: Nokia has been chosen to expand the 3G WCDMA radio-access network for MTC-Vodafone ( Bahrain ), with the help of Future Communications Company (FCC), Nokia's value-added reseller for networks in the Middle East . With this expansion MTC-Vodafone will be able to offer 3G services nationwide by the end of 2004.

In August 2003, MTC-Vodafone ( Bahrain ) became the first operator in the Middle East to implement an EDGE/WCDMA network, using Nokia network equipment supplied by FCC. With this expansion, working with FCC, Nokia will supply the necessary infrastructure to rollout the 3G WCDMA across the Kingdom of Bahrain .

Under the expansion agreement, FCC will deliver and implement a complete Nokia radio-access network, including WCDMA base stations, Radio Network Controllers and other network equipment, plus operational support services. FCC will carry out the network implementation and integration, supported by Nokia.
