ZTE has been selected by GTS Central Europe, a leading regional telecommunication provider to business, corporate and international carriers, to deploy an ultra long haul DWDM (dense wavelength division multiplexing) backbone transmission network spanning Eastern and Western Europe. The new network will enable GTS Central Europe (GTS CE) to extend the existing connection between Frankfurt in Germany, Prague in the Czech Republic and Bratislava in Slovakia. GTS CE owns five telecommunications operators in the CEE region, including GTS Novera, the second largest fixed line operator in the Czech Republic. The group provides its customers with a wide range of telecommunication services using its own national and international network infrastructure. The new network is crucial for GTS CE because it will enable the company to significantly extend its existing capacity potential and improve their competitor differentiation. A series of stringent interoperability tests was carried out prior to awarding the contract to ZTE. The network will adopt ZTE's ZXWM M900 DWDM equipment with RZ coding and AFEC ULH DWDM transmission technologies to guarantee 1000km transmission without electrical regeneration.
