And 2007 has already set new records. In its second year at its new home in Barcelona the 3GSM World Congress will play host to almost 60,000 visitors - up by 10,000 on 2006. And the number of exhibitors is also significantly up at 1,300 plus. The big theme at this year's Congress is undoubtedly mobile content. Mobile operators worldwide are desperately seeking that killer app that will kick start a revival in their flagging ARPUs. Could it be mobile video? mobileTV? music? The truth is that no-one really knows but you can be sure that there will be plenty of companies in Barcelona this week anxious to convince operators that they have the only solution - and desperate operators will probably believe them!
