Carillion signs BT deal Print E-mail
Wednesday, 13 June 2007

Support services and construction company Carillion has chosen BT to be its implementation partner for convergence and to conduct a complete analysis of its information and communication technology networks, following its acquisition of Mowlem in February last year. The acquisition created one ofthe UK's largest support services and construction companies, with a combined order book of around £9bn and over 50,000 employees. The five-year, £26.6mn deal is designed to increase Carillion's operational efficiency by effectively managing the integration of its, and Mowlem's, legacy systems. Carillion has asked BT to assist in merging the two organisations' infrastructures into one seamless network, to assess the existing IT and communication networks that are currently in place acrossits estate - almost 1,000 sites, and to advise on the company's future needs. Following this, the plan is for BT to deliver new managed network based services to Carillion, which will enable its staff to have direct access to real-time information and plans about any project.
