Taiwanese airport to deploy Motorola network Print E-mail
Wednesday, 27 June 2007

Motorola has won a contract from Marubeni Corporation to provide a TETRA digital radio communications system to the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (formerly Chiang Kai Shek Airport) rail transit network. The Taoyuan Airport Link Transit System will deploy Motorola's TETRA technology hardware, software, services and maintenance together with Motorola Dimetra IP system that allows for the provisioning of higher data speeds to support the integration of advanced mobile data solutions. Besides providing day-to-day digital radio links across the airport's rail transit system, a key driver that led to the selection of Motorola's ETRA system was the need to ensure public safety for the 29 million passengers that Taoyuan serves every year. Reliable seamless mobility on the ground will enable effective disaster response plans during drills as well as in the event of unexpected natural disaster.
