Malaysian operator deploys Clarity solution Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 September 2007
Clarity has announced the successful first phase deployment of its pre-integrated OSS solution for Telekom Malaysia (TM), the number one provider of communications in Malaysia. The unified OSS solution has been deployed to easily manage TM's logical and physical network infrastructure. By moving away from four legacy inventory systems under the previous "silo" approach, TM is benefiting from a clear network-wide view of assets across one system. The first phase of the deployment has centralised engineering work flow processes and provisioning for IP, telephony, broadband and narrowband services. It can also plan and monitor maintenance activities and outages. Inventory systems for interconnect services, frame relay and ATM services have also been centralised, along with audit issues which are now resolved via one IP management system. Clarity's solution has ensured end-to-end integrated workflow between order management and inventory for all existing systems.  The remaining TM wholesale infrastructure will migrate to Clarity later this year, when the second phase will be completed. This will enable the company to move all remaining data and interconnect services onto a single inventory system. At that point a further six internal systems will be retired.
