Nortel has announced three new Ethernet contracts which indicates how the company is enabling the creation of a metropolitan broadband optical infrastructure that brings massive bandwidth and unprecedented services to consumers, businesses and public institutions.
Verizon Business will deploy the Nortel Optical Multiservice Edge 6500 (hyperlink) to deliver transport convergence for TDM and packet services in 17 European countries and four countries across RASCOM, a supplier of international capacity for telecommunications operators in Midcontinent, a North American triple play services provider serving more than 200 communities in North and South the Dakota, will extend high bandwidth business video on demand and triple play services to 12 new markets with a single converged network provided by Nortel's ultra-fast 10G optical technology. www.nortel.com |
