O2 expands mobile email range Print E-mail
Friday, 02 November 2007
O2 has announced a partnership with Motorola Good Technology for Good Mobile Solutions, a secure and personalised push email and corporate applications solution. O2 will become the first mobile operator in the UK to offer Good Mobile Solutions (Good) directly to customers. Good allows mobile access to email, PIM and other behind-the-firewall applications and is compatible with devices using the Windows Mobile operating system including selected O2 Xdas, Palm and Motorola devices. Good will be available on the Motorola Q9 which launches on O2 in November. Good Mobile Solutions gives business users many customisable features, including a fully-integrated mobile news feeder, the ability to group and sort emails by conversation threads, the ability to customise priority mail with personalised notifications, and complete calendaring capabilities, including real-time free-busy visibility. A host of advanced security and management features provide ultimate control for the IT department, including the ability to enforce passwords, lock out devices, completely wipe data from devices over-the-air, check for mandatory applications and blacklist applications. Using Good, IT can also remotely control access to hardware features such as cameras, WiFi and Bluetooth, and encrypt data to the SD card and the database, all through a single management console with complete over-the-air controls. Good also offers the ability to automatically upgrade and update devices without ever having to return them to the office or plug them into a cradle, right across departments and user groups.
