DiGi deploys AIRCOM's tools throughout Malaysia Print E-mail
Thursday, 22 November 2007
AIRCOM International has signed a deal with leading Malaysian mobile communications operator DiGi, to provide multiple network planning and optimisation tools from its ENTERPRISE 6.0 tool suite.  The deal comes as DiGi's subscriber base for prepaid voice and data services continues to grow across Malaysia and additional capacity is opened up in the network. The two software components AIRCOM will provide in the latest purchase are an upgrade to the latest version of OPTIMA Performance Management system with more interfaces and DIRECT Transmission network planning tool, which follow the successful deployment of the ASSET, CONNECT and OPTIMA tools in the previous years.  OPTIMA provides a single Performance Management system for DiGi's vendor networks, while the DIRECT tool gives the benefit of integrating all the operators' separately stored transmission network data onto a common database, so it can plan and optimise the network more effectively. AIRCOM's consultants will continue to provide DiGi staff on the ground with a tools training programme and have effectively split the network into five regions, to allow for quicker integration of the tools across the country.  The first User Acceptance test for DIRECT will be in region 1 - North Malaysia - and is set for completion in early November. Meanwhile full integration of two new OPTIMA interfaces is set for the end of the year.
