NEC France SAS, an affiliate of NEC Europe Ltd., has signed a frame contract with the French mobile carrier Bouygues Telecom to provide technical services (Base Station Optimization) for its high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) network. "Base Station Optimization" refers to the maximization of service areas covered by individual RF base stations and the communication quality (network access, system handovers, etc.) in those areas. This kind of optimization will enable Bouygues Telecom to offer high-quality services and significantly improve the quality of mobile phone usage environments for end users.
