Nokia Siemens to expand Indonesian network Print E-mail
Tuesday, 06 May 2008
Nokia Siemens Networks has been selected to modernize the existing core networks for Telkomsel, the biggest mobile services provider in Indonesia . Under the three-year framework agreement, Nokia Siemens Networks will deploy the latest generation softswitch across Indonesia . This is one of the biggest softswitch network modernizations in Asia Pacific, and includes network planning, implementation as well as consulting and system integration. This solution will help Telkomsel evolve seamlessly to an All IP architecture and enable the operator to offer new innovative services such as Voice over IP to their users. The network expansion will increase Telkomsel’s network capacity and grow the current delivery of telecommunications services of 52 million subscribers. Additionally, the new solution lets Telkomsel simplify its network architecture, thus lowering operating costs while increasing the efficacy of providing voice and data applications. A project management team has been tasked to help Telkomsel effectively overcome commercial, operational and technical challenges. Network implementation, consulting and systems integration help optimize spending, allowing Telkomsel to be focused on its core business whilst building and expanding its network.
