27 December, 2004: The Swedish mobile network operator Spring Mobil has commissioned Siemens Communications to supply its indoor mobile networks solution based on GSM/GPRS. The solution includes small, affordable mobile communication base stations along with integration into existing IP networks. Consequently the solution can be deployed seamlessly in today's office infrastructures. This solution also supports effective mobile communication coverage in specific environments and under specific conditions such as underground parking lots. Within the five year frame agreement, Siemens will provide indoor base stations as well as IP-based base station controllers to Spring Mobil.

Already during a three month customer service trial Siemens demonstrated the performance of its indoor base station solution and the impressive fast and simple installation, as well as cost efficient IP-transmission. Spring Mobil has already begun rolling out the new indoor mobile networks to enterprises ranging across several industries, from media and IT to manufacturing.
