Chinese GSM expansion deal Print E-mail

21 January, 2005: Nokia has signed a new contract with Chinese operator Jiangxi Mobile Communications Co. Ltd (Jiangxi MCC) for the further expansion of its GSM network. Deliveries have already begun and the network expansion is expected to be completed during first quarter 2005. With this expansion Jiangxi MCC will be able meet the need for increased demand during the Spring Festival holiday season.

Under the agreement, Nokia will supply its GSM core and radio-access network infrastructure. In addition to network equipment, Nokia provides an extensive range of services including planning and implementation meeting the customer's needs for fast ramp-up and high service availability.
