TeleWare has announced the new deployment of a Private Mobile Network for innovITSADVANCE. Private Mobile Networks Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of the TeleWare Group), has designed, developed and will implement a cellular-based private communications network that meets the communication needs of the facility. The solution is due to go live within 6 months. The Private Mobile Network provides comprehensive communications for the testing and validating of the next generation of systems connecting vehicles and highways. innovITSADVANCE is an international research and development centre for connecting vehicles, highways and telecommunications. This world class technical facility is the result of a unique collaboration between innovITS, TRL and MIRA, with £6.5 million funding support provided by Advantage West Midlands. The new facility will enable customers from the telecommunications, automotive and electronics industries, as well as highways authorities and operators, to develop, test and validate future transport technologies in a safe and highly controlled environment. innovITSADVANCE aims to reduce accidents, improve environmental efficiency and help to alleviate traffic congestion through the efficient and intelligent use of vehicles and highway infrastructure by facilitating innovation in cooperative vehicle, highway and telecommunications technologies.
