NEC Corporation has announced that it will provide Airvana's’s HubBub UMTS consumer and high-capacity enterprise femtocell access point as part of its femtocell solution offering to mobile operators worldwide. NEC will offer Airvana’s femtocell access point as part of its growing ecosystem of femtocell access point vendors. Airvana’s 3GPP (3G Partnership Project)-compliant femtocell access point will deliver out-of-the-box interoperability with the NEC femtocell gateway including the security gateway, concentrator and the Femtocell Access Point Management System. NEC will provide a smooth transition of its deployed femtocell gateways to a standards-based gateway, connecting the Airvana femtocell access point to the mobile operator network.
