ETSI publishes SDSL update Print E-mail
Friday, 04 March 2005

ETSI has published a new version of TS 101 524, the Technical Specification for a revision of the Symmetric high-bitrate Digital Subscriber Line (SDSL) for broadband transmission over copper cables, which extends the maximum distance that can be reached with a higher transfer speed. With this new version signals are transmitted on multiple pairs in parallel (maximum 4), making available a higher total symmetrical bit-rate to users on longer lines. This extends the service area dramatically, which is most interesting for business users. The specification has also been adopted by the ITU-T, enabling customers to benefit from a common worldwide solution.
